• Lead and oversee the Global Markets Operations (GMO) team in delivering operational excellence and ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal policies
• Represent the team to participate in management committees contributing to risk and control oversight for enhancing operational governance
• Communicate and collaborate with stakeholders from the Head Office and on branch level across diverse teams and locations for issues resolution
• Participate in project task force and support the development and UAT of system solutions for new business initiatives
• Oversee the periodic regulatory and internal survey / reporting processes ensuring deliverance with the highest accuracy, quality and timeliness
• Ensure department Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are in place and up-to-date to enhance settlement risk mitigation and control implementation
• Contribute to driving continuous process re-engineering to streamline operational workflow, deliver efficiency and reduce operational risks
• Foster a strong performance culture to uphold accountability and integrity among the team striving to pursue for excellence
Ideal candidates should possess:
• Bachelor’s Degree with at least 10 years of relevant working and supervisory experience in back office operations of financial institutions (preferably investment banks)
• Team spirit, good interpersonal, communication and organization skill
• Knowledge of the full settlement cycle of capital markets products, including: FX products, derivative products, structured products, fixed income products, Exchange Fund Bills and Notes, issuance of Certificate of Deposits and Structured Notes
• Knowledge of the margin call process under the Global Master Repurchase Agreement and Credit Support Annex
• Knowledge in HK Trade Repository Reporting (including submission of new trade, amendment, back loading, termination, checking and resolving unmatched items etc)
• Knowledge and good experience in market systems like SUMMIT, SWIFT, RTGS, Clearstream-Xact, CMBT
• Fluency in both spoken and written English, and good command of Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese)
• Versatile in Microsoft Office, i.e. EXCEL and WORD
